ENTERPRISE, Ala. (Dec. 23, 2025) – Enterprise Rescue, the leading EMS provider in South Alabama, has once again expanded as ambulance operations will soon begin in Greenville and throughout Butler County, the company announced Tuesday.
Butler County, located in South Central Alabama with a population of near 20,000, borders Covington, Crenshaw, Lowndes, Wilcox, Monroe, and Conecuh counties. The expansion signifies the third for ERI within the last calendar year alone, as the employee-owned provider began serving Monroe County earlier in 2025, and the City of Jackson in Clarke County this August.
The opportunity presented itself thanks to the Healthcare Authority of the City of Greenville. ERI will provide multiple advanced life support (ALS) units along with critical care services in the county, expanding upon the expert-level care it already provides in Coffee, Covington, Dale, Monroe, and Clarke counties.
In addition, ERI’s growing Wheelchair Van division will begin operating in 2026 within the county, and its existing air medical operations will enhance its coverage of the area via its three existing aircraft based in Enterprise, Andalusia, and Monroeville.
“We at Enterprise Rescue have always had the mindset of answering any business development call that comes our way, and this case is no different,” said Arnold Woodham, Chief Operations Officer. “With everything that’s happened in the healthcare circles in Greenville recently, this opportunity presented itself, we approached it with strategic and careful thinking and are pleased to have received the call for service from the officials in Greenville and Butler County.”
ERI is expected to officially begin operations in Butler County in early 2026.
