Job Description: Automotive/Light Truck Technician 

Position: Full-Time Technician 
Location: Enterprise, AL 
Salary: $18 – $40 per hour (based on experience)

As we grow, we’re looking for a talented Automotive/Light Truck Technician (ambulance experience preferred) to help us keep our fleet in tip-top shape. 

 

Position Overview: 

We are looking for an experienced Automotive/Light Truck Technician to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot our fleet of emergency medical vehicles. The ideal candidate will have previous ambulance experience and a strong technical background in A/C and electrical systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that all ambulances and emergency vehicles are always fully operational and safe for service.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Fleet Maintenance & Repairs: Perform regular maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on ambulances and other emergency vehicles, including but not limited to electrical systems, mechanical components, and specialized EMS equipment 

  • Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and system failures to ensure ambulances are in peak operating condition 

  • Certification & Compliance: Ensure all vehicles meet state and federal safety standards. Maintain certification for both ASE and EVT 

  • Documentation & Reporting: Keep accurate records of repairs, inspections, and service schedules. Complete work orders and ensure proper documentation of maintenance history 

  • Equipment Installation: Install and maintain emergency medical equipment (like lights, sirens, and communications devices) in vehicles 

  • Safety and Quality: Adhere to safety standards and company policies to ensure quality repairs and maintenance, protecting both vehicle integrity and personnel safety 

  • On-Call / Emergency Response: Be available for on-call services as needed to respond to any vehicle breakdowns or emergencies in the fleet, including the ability to come in on holidays or outside of business hours and the ability to travel to our other locations to perform services as needed 

 

 

Qualifications: 

  • ASE Certification: Must be willing to study for and take ASE certification within 2 years of hire 

  • EVT Certification: Must hold Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) certification or be willing to obtain within 1 year 

  • Ambulance Experience: Is a huge plus 

  • Knowledge & Skills: 

  • Strong diagnostic skills for electrical and mechanical systems 

  • Experience with emergency vehicle equipment, including sirens, lights, communication systems, and medical equipment 

  • Ability to work with a range of tools and diagnostic machines needed for maintenance and repairs 

  • Knowledge of applicable safety regulations and protocols 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail 

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 110 pounds and perform tasks that require standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods 

  • Valid Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is required, with the ability to drive emergency vehicles if needed 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Experience with ambulance fleet management and logistics 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment 

  • Familiarity with electrical troubleshooting in high-voltage or specialized emergency equipment
